God is so Good! We had our latest doctor’s meeting at Touchstone today. Two weeks ago they said Stacy was not ready for outpatient consideration and today they told us that he may be able to come home in as soon as a month!
In the past two weeks God has truly moved in Stacy and he has embraced his therapy and thrown himself into his rehabilitation with a new outlook. Much of the progress is attributed to finding the right therapeutic combination of medicines- which has allowed Stacy’s brain to bridge some of the gaps that were preventing him from progressing.
I think that, although God uses medications to help too, it is more the fact that Stacy has begun regular Bible study each day, has been joining Tuesday morning Bible studies by phone and regularly conversing with many of his friends that has kept his spirit high and his face turned toward God. THIS is what has made the biggest difference. We talked about it today and sometimes God just wants us to be faithful and content to do our best in the current circumstances. Stacy has truly embraced where he is in life right now and wants to be all that God wants him to be.– I believe faith is what has brought about the greatest change.
Our greatest prayer request would be insurance benefits. We don’t know what is covered in terms of outpatient. We are also trying to see if Stacy will qualify for DARS which has a vocational rehabilitation program. Our prayer is that our health insurance will cover his outpatient therapies until the DARS program can take over. That’s a very poor explanation of the situation but in essence that’s it…
Our prayer is that God will lead us in the right direction for Stacy to get the most out of his therapies, with the least amount of time left as an inpatient and the least out of pocket expense for us. Also, please pray for our family to prepare for the transition of being altogether again. Once again, new habits and patterns will have to emerge and our family dynamics have changed.
We are overjoyed to be getting ready to head into the next phase of Stacy’s recovery. Thank you for your continued prayers. God Bless…
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
