Stacy’s coming HOME!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for your prayers! I know it’s been forever since the last update. Things have been quite stressful and we’ve done a lot of wondering and waiting and praying… and that means we’ve all been growing closer to each other and God.
God wants us to trust by faith and not be sight. We’ve continued to trust in Him knowing that He will see Stacy through and that we will know what’s going to happen when it’s time.
WELL IT’S TIME!
Stacy is coming home for good in two days!!! He’ll be moving out and back home first thing Saturday morning!
We are very excited to move into the next phase of healing. The second best thing to Stacy coming home is that his outpatient therapy will be covered completely by insurance. For some reason, ( my guess is God’s desire to have us grow closer to Him…) Stacy’s insurance is coded in such a way so that when the rehab facilities use the automated systems – it shows he had no speech/ cognitive benefits. No one went further and tried to contact an actual person for information. Upon speaking to an individual and explaining that his injury is that of a TBI—they opened up all kinds of benefits for cognitive rehab!!!
Stacy is very excited to get a week off and then begin Touchstone’s day program. —Thanks to God that we have such a strong and wonderful support system in our parents! This will be a lot of driving but will enable Stacy to be a full time member of the family again!!
This is still going to be a very long road. We are almost at the four month mark and still have several months of cognitive rehabilitation in front of us. Then, more than likely, Stacy will enter a vocation rehabilitation program to help him utilize his newly acquired skills and (as he says), “figure out what he wants to be when he grows up!”
We are so excited and blessed to have all of you on our side! As exciting as this is, there is an undercurrent of fear—our family dynamics have changed. So we ask for continued prayers for patience and understanding in our home, for continued progress and healing and for Christ to be in the middle of it all.
The Lord has done great things for us! We are glad!
